Don't ask me why I spent hours decorating rubber cockroaches. Okay ask!!! I guess I was intrigued by the idea of making something ugly look pretty and I wanted to play in the studio. Anyway JAFA is going to leave one somewhere today hee!hee!hee!

Oh this is driving me insane, I want a cup of tea, I wish I was finished with this bloody painting. why I bother I don't know, I am going to sand some of it away anyway. I give up and come upstairs to make a cup of tea and pout and I walk by this one at the top of my stairs on a box. Okay, not as good as this fellas, but hey I wasn't looking for it and it made me smile. Sometimes faces just pop up where you least expect them.

An Ordinary Life Part Two

Sometimes it is hard NOT to live an ordinary life. The mundane tasks impose themselves on you whether you like it or not BLECH! Dishes to wash, brushes to clean, doggie parcels around the yard to be collected (how humbling is that). But in my brain, ah, my playground where dishes magically don't exist or wash themselves, who knows.. I was reading about memorial effigy sticks and imagined them all over my yard and what I would put on them. So I started painting some heads that I would attach to the top. This one looks like John Malkevitch huh (not on purpose)! I had fun stitching on his nose and stuffing it. Great way to get out any latent anger. get that stuffing up yer nose YOU!!!!! Man,I would have liked to taken a trip into John through that portal. Talk about weird, not sure I would like to have been spat out on the jersey turnpike though, why not some place like Hawaii, or my mums backyard so I could share a chat and a cuppa. Boo hoo miss me mum and sis!!!!!!!!!! Miss hearing geordie whaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!!!!! Oh......yes! err! back to reality. erm, where was I. Anyways, need to go to the lumber yard and find wood I can cut and carve.

An Ordinary Life

The dictionary defines ordinary as usual or not exceptional. Is it ordinary to wear black leather boots and imagine your pussy galore (now I'm showing me age) while speeding down the highway with track 7 of "Garbage" blasting your ears off. Probably! I was thinking mine an ordinary life, but then when you spend a morning collecting dead flies for an art installation, well, errrrr, ordinary or usual doesn't come to mind LOL! Yes, that is MY hand in the photograph sticking dead flies onto a strip for an artist's installation piece. Not something I dreamed I would be doing in my later years, but then maybe I just don't plan to live an ordinary life ;)

Homes of Yellow Springs

This is John B's home on N. Winter street. Everytime I walk by with the dog I am trying to discreetly explore it without looking obvious lol! It really helps when rufus stops for a long sniff at the tree opposite ;) It never ceases to amaze me how many interesting and talented people live in this wee village in the heart of ohio.

Bars and Angels

So I walked into peach's grill for lunch with jafajan and I couldn't stop laughing, for lo and behold there hanging next to the bar is angel 2. One of the waitstaff there Mandi Boop said she really liked it. I told her to go ahead and take it, glad the angel found a home :)

Murals, pizza and scrabble

I love seeing this mural as I walk from Village Artisans (on corry street) to Ha Ha Pizza. I don't know who painted it, but I do know that the fella second left is Teaspoon (one of the workmen that refurbished the building for "Would you could you IN A FRAME").
T the T is wicked with that scrabble :0

UGH!!!!!!!!! did I mention what a big pain in the backside it is to set up a domain name, but I think I did it and I hope this link works (keeping fingers crossed).

Note to Self!

when going to the tan salon don't wear a lot of clothes. Nine mins is not enough time to strip off and put on the bronzing cream before the tan machine kicks in.
I had visions of having a healthy glow instead of legs and arms that look like bratwurst sausages. HAH! I look like I have coffee streaks all over me. I suppose one could say it looks artistic. Been scrubbing meself silly since.

On the bright side, I now have an Allerair tube filter/air purifier in my studio, YES!!!!! What a difference even in just 30 mins. I had a dream last week that I was painting large black and white portraits, so I ordered some ultrasmooth canvas and will start on that next month. Having pepperoni pizza with anchovies from Ha Ha Pizza today with talitha the tongue. She doesn't know it yet but she is going to help me paint a handful of stones for jafagirls.

Work In Progress

Not sure how I am going to incorporate this into an assemblage. Once I have finished the portrait I will figure it out. Will stay black and white with a hint of colour and then varnished.

There are some people who are like cats, they meow and purr in friendship while they suck your soul dry. Then they spit you out until the next time they need something, or they find a new friend to feed on.

Man, the town was hopping last night

Art Stroll night. The Emporium has the work of Mary Paulsen up for the month of April and it is wonderful. Wonder if anybody found the "nazar bonjuks" jafa's left around town ;)
