Quiet Pursuits: Are Blogs Making a Comeback?

A Life of Alchemy
Ponderings of a creative soul traveling the roads of life

I keep reading that blogs are making a comeback, but I'm not convinced, nor do I feel it will make much difference for me or my little corner of the blogosphere. Read Notation at the bottom.

Right now, people seem trapped in an endless scroll of reels: AI-generated content, doom scrolling, badly rewritten versions of history garnered from social media rather than solidly researched articles,  fake images, algorithm-driven outrage, influencers and carefully or orchestrated/ performative displays altruism or indignation.

If authenticity is truly what people crave, it certainly doesn't show in the collective culture of social media.  That said, sure I still enjoy social media, but I find myself stepping back as ai fakery increases and the intrusion of ads become  so intrusive and disrupting I lose the plot.

Quiet Pursuits and Authenticity

I mentioned in my previous post being
Quiet As a Mouse in a House, and so here I am blogging again, quietly puttering around, watching the goslings ( we have two families and 10 goslings ) in our pond behind our house.
  Aren't they adorable?

As for authenticity,  you won't find curated perfection  or seo driven content.   I just share whatever is going on.

Note: of course it's ai that's saying that and the sources are reddit, and blog posts 😂 the irony. However there is a quiet shift going on and people are choosing platforms like substack to blog on rather than blogs like this.
