Finished Skeleton Embroidery
Now I don't know what to do with it because what I thought I was going to do didn't quite work out. Now it is going to have to sit in my studio for a while until an idea hits me. I have learned one thing about myself, never pays to rush. Even though I feel guilty at times for seeming like a snail I am constantly reminded of why it is important for me to pace myself. Same thing happened with my last embroidery but I am much happier with the eye in the "ego contemno bitches" than what I originally planned.
I do know that I want to incorporate it into an assemblage, but how remains to be seen.
Not using that mounting board again for embroidery, arg, shows up stray threads.

Meanwhile in Jafabrit's Studio
Working on a painted version
Has a very Los Muertos look which was not intentional
but hey the MUSE is in charge
I know where my muse is NOT and it isn't in Francis Bacon's old haunt
I have the dvd of the South Bank show interview by Melvyn Bragg but you can see the whole series I believe at Radical Films site.

(did you use the self-adhesive mountboard? i used it and didn't like it at all. bleurgh)
What would I do with it? I often see images within images, and looking at the genitals a somewhat perverse side of me was triggered. I saw a face with two eyes (wrapped in glasses, and a long nose. I then imagined putting a word/thought balloon there (comic style) and the face thinking: "Why am I dangling here?"
(glad this comment is being moderated before posting.)
You are a good artist.
I can't wait to see how you use it. And the painting is lovely. Beautiful work.
