The Death Show

A fellow blogger, Rodrigo Pradel, at Estudio Luna is doing a Death Themed Art Show and I sent along my collage and acrylic reverse painting titled "ecstasy". I built the frame myself and then sanded the frame and a little of the surface of the Lucite.

Meanwhile the Southsea Free Art Exhibition that My Dog Sighs arranged looked like a fabulous day with a lot of happy finders.

The Arte Y Pico Award
A special lady at Chronicles of Trisna gave this award and I want to send a BIG thank you from ME :)

Fabulous, I want to see this show!

Years ago I curated a show called "The Death Show", and it was a hoot. For many years my favorite image and symbol was a skeleton and also skull and crossbones. In fact I had bank checks made with the latter.

I have been amused by this imagery for many years. Day of the Dead is one of my favorite holidays. It is no wonder I have been drawn to your work for quite some time now. It looks to me like it amuses you as well!

I wish I could see the show too :) Rodrigo does fabulous work himself and all the shows he has put on look fabulous.

Day of the Dead has always fascinated me and yes the imagery does amuse and inspire me. It is odd what we are drawn to :) Glad you visited :)
Awesome skull art!

Ouch. So you're saying your blog .jpg's can't be used, not even to drive traffic to your blog?

I'm a multiple offender. In fact, I had just grabbed Meow Tse-Tung to use as a picture link to send people your way when I read that caveat at the end of this post.

If you're serious, I'll stop using your images, but I've only used them to send traffic to you. I appreciate that stolen digital art is a problem, having had clueless bloggers "steal" images off my blog that I was hosting, and doing so in a way that let me pay for their bandwidth (and yes, I'm directing evil thoughts towards a young librarian in NYC right now).

I'll check back to see if you reply, but I'm hoping I have your permission to use your images if I restrict their use to promoting your blog.

Mark, I have absolutely no problem with blogs using my pics and citing source, or quoting me on their blog. What has happened is that a spam blogger is copying entire posts for his money making splog (20 so far). Every single post on his splog is copied and pasted from other bloggers. So you are safe :)

Maybe I should reword it since it gave you concern and frankly I have always appreciated your support and link backs.

I'm surprized you haven't been splogged before. There's zillions of them poaching on political bloggers. Even without that disclaimer most sploggers will yank your content instantly on request.

I can't figure out where the money is in splogging, but that's why they do it.

Jings - I had to read that copyright statement a bazillion times before I understood it! (And I'm still not sure if I get it) Don't you worry yourself about my intellectual capabilities though! A quick look at the above post tells me that I'm not going to understand that one either!

Great skull work though as usual!

undaunted, what the splogger is doing is copying my entire blog entry (including the copyright notice) and posting on his spam blog. So anybody reading his spam blog will see that I have a copyright violation notice within my stolen blog entry. Not sure it will do anything though.

sorry to hear about the splogger. (and I thought bots were bad)

Cool that you don't have to wait until October for skeleton art. The Death Show sounds like a fun time!
