Okay, it's a wee bit early for that, but I love October. This is the month when I can open all the windows, smell the leaves, kick leaves, have a leaf fight. Sit outside by the chiminea sipping hot apple cider and watch the flames crackle.

I once heard an author tell an interviewer she found it hard to discuss her book because she had finished it already and was excited about the new project. I haven't even got my exhibit up yet and already my head is elswhere. My new struggle (apart from the mauve painting-eek) is my next series of work that is roiling around my head. The jafagirls have a group exhibit next June, which means I have 7 months to work on a few pieces.

Saatchi has a nice article about it. I know skulls are in at the moment, but this one holds its own for me not just aesthetically, but conceptually. I think it makes a powerful statement even without knowing the story (which is shameful) of what motivated it.
What I see is a god of death consuming people through starvation.
I don't know who to credit for the photograph, but the source of the image is from this site. I don't read Italian, but if someone does and cares to point out the name of the photographer I will gladly update and cite him/her.
