I'm Back

"darvocet"
it creeps, sharp and dull
a tear drop rolls down her cheek
waits impatiently

Talking about backs, that is how mine feels. We drove 2300 miles round trip from Ohio to Florida. On the way there and back I wrote notes, and tried my hand at haiku. We moved our daughter into her new apartment, hung out with some old friends we had made when we first came to the USA, and visited the Salvidor Dali Museum.
Hope everyone is well and will look forward to catching up with my fave bloggers.

Message to Disney Gal: boo hoo! miss you already.

Love the art painting - plus Spirit in the Sky was playing when I visited your page which put a smile on my face. Though I had faint pangs of revulsion from recalling the Gareth Gates version...Oh dear.

*hugs* I'm so sorry your back is hurting, that is such a loong trip, no wonder! I hope it's starting to feel better by now. Love the heart, it really depicts pain, eek, those fangs!
Awesome statue!

lyn I wish my back was getting better but unfortunately it isn't. what added to my woes is before we went on the trip I had traction at the therapists and while it helped my lower back a wee bit it did hell to my upper back and shoulder blades. Most of the trip I did fine except the last day. I can't ever recall having pain reduce me to tears, but this one day it did. I have a feeling that I will have to change my studio habits and no longer do easel painting or big paintings/projects.

I had to Google "darvocet", but as a fellow back sufferer, now I understand only too well.

It's a real drag isn't it mr.zip?

Yoiks...had no idea what darvocet meant...thought it was some name for a geordie evil spirit-a kind of Newcastle golem. Now me savvy plenty. I like the teeth-I suffered from chronic sciatica for 19 years, so you have my deepest sympathy dear. Glad you're back.

I too have a horrible back. It goes out so bad on occasion that I can't walk. I go to a chiropractor who zaps me with electricity, then he pops and cracks me and in a few days I'm good as new.

I only go when my back is out, and it works very well for me. Maybe there's someone near you who can help?

I surely hope so.

Hey, whats the Dali museum like?
When I visited Florida I wanted to go. I was in Orlando and could have driven but was a bit scared of crashing the car. I had an international license but found problems just crossing a double lane highway as a pedestrian. Us Aussies drive on a different side of life.

Hiay Howard, It cost us 15.00 each to get in which is a LOT for a small musuem. Having said that though it was worth it. Because it was small it was manageable and very few people. They had an excellent docent guiding visitors who wanted to hear specifics about some of the paintings. Getting a chance to see his work close up gave me a much stronger appreciation for his draftsmanship and paint quality. Also seeing the work in the real there is this interesting phenomenon that as you walk by some of the paintings your perception changes and you notice new things in the paintings. Also his sense of humour was just delightful and I found myself bursting at laughing at few of his paintings. They also had an excellent gift shop.

lol noonan, some geordie evil spirit! Sciatica for 19 years, YIKES!!!!!!!! Yes I feel the teeth says it all eh!

I may consider chiropractor in the future margot. I would like to see how losing weight (on a plan), back exercises, and walking helps within the next 3 months. No change then go to plan b. Plan zed is surgery.
