To My Son
Do you remember this picture your sister drew? From my dairy entry Feb 24th 1991. Who would have guessed we would be there again :(
Without getting too soppy or sentimental I just want to say thankyou for serving your country. I can't tell you how proud I am of you. My thoughts are with all those who are in uniform, past and present, and for their families.

I forgot all about that picture. Has it really been 15 years?
He should know that you're part of a bigger, stranger family now, through your blogging, WC, and other stuff. As part of that freakily-extended family, I'd like to express my appreciation and respect, too.
Thank you!
thanks w.j.
Thanks for stopping by my blog, it's great to have another geordie reader even if you are quite far away!
lyn-you're right that marmoset is very strange looking creature. I wouldn't mind incorporating it into a painting.
w.j-I think we are all still recovering from "too much food" syndrome lol! It was a lovely day though.
I'm so glad your son was able to come home safely to you.
yes I think our children always have ways of suprising us, intriguing us. It is a journey I wouldn't have missed for the world (even if it meant a few more grey hairs.)
I also love his drawing. I have boxes of my daughters that I can't seem to part with.
Like you I couldn't part with many of the kids artwork. I either photographed them and threw them away, saved them in a special folder,or made painted copies of them.
