Tis the Season and the Art of Jollity

I am just not feeling it this season.
Jollity is being elusive.
A major MOVE looms.
It's my last Christmas with my dear friends.
It's my last Christmas in this wee village surrounded by cornfields.
How I've come to love those cornfields.

The Art of Jollity
Open the door a wee bit and it sneaks in
with that smile of a friend
that connection with a loved one far away
that candy crunch all the way from Ireland
that handmade gift left at the door
that moment you volunteer for a cause
that card that comes in the mail
that video of a grandchild
that smell of roasting chestnuts
and the moment I remember
 how utterly blessed I am.
