Carpe Diem Cras O Mistress Mine
Carpe Diem
O mistress mine, where are you roaming?
O Stay and hear! your true-love's coming
That can sing both high and low;
Trip no further, pretty sweeting,
Journeys end in lovers' meeting----
Every wise man's son doth know.
What is love? tis not hereafter;
Present mirth hath present laughter;
What's to come is still unsure:
In delay there lies no plenty, ---
Then come kiss me, Sweet and twenty,
Youth's a stuff will not endure.
William Shakespeare
I roamed with my knitting and left a loving touch
on a local bench.
I picked colours that matched the blue in the window of the Laundromat and the orange of the newspaper box at the side. Nancy is going to add the textile portion with a quote carpe diem, which is exactly what I did that day.
The procrastinators version made me giggle though since I kind of relate to it a bit too well.
Carpe Diem Cras
"Seize the day tomorrow"
Meanwhile
I have been drawing out my design for my embroidery piece in my sketchbook
I came up with a title for it
"Richard Cranium"
A little bit of wordplay there

Oh, I did not understand that poem at all - part way through I thought "This must be Shakespeare", and what-d'ya-know?!
I like the quote, but like you, I think carpe diem cras is more like me!
I love site specific knit ups.. no wonder people moan when you replace them. Thanks for the tip about the uv spray, I will see what they have in australia.
Bill, are you going to show us your cross stitch :) sewing is very contemplative isn't it?
I hope that spray works grrrl+dog, we have also sprayed the felt with scotch guard. We'll see. Meanwhile I want to work on a new site specific piece further down the street.
Lady P, I can't wait to see the added felt flowers and quote to the bench. Nancy is going to choose felt colours to match the surroundings and knitting also.
I wish the sun shining today Lynette, the whole street is lined with blossom trees and it looks magnificent. Unfortunately the weather here today is dull, dull, and more dull.
p.s. Wee Birdy here - I'm posting over at Oola Moola as well. You might like to take a peek?
The knitting around town makes me smile, and it's fun to discover the new ones as they appear.
Is that your banner in the picture? I planned on doing a banner, but Carpe Diem Cras was my motto, so I hope they'll do it again next year.
As for the birds, I have added something that is decorative but a bit naughty and related to an incident with a person who was very very rude. I will post near the end of this month when it is finished.
My banner is a photo of an oil painting I did last year called "shadow songs".
I adore you, Ms. Corrine.

Madge

Its a pub in Leeds. I was interested for a minute!
A fantastic blog.
You have an interesting job, a tough I think.
What an apt name for a pub, Carpe Diem, I had many a relative procrastinate nightly in such places.
