Self Indulgent Cuteness

I read a comment on a blog about knit graffiti
"but this also seems a little like littering mixed with self-indulgent cuteness. "
So I couldn't resist sharing these photos of self indulgent cuteness

Okay, so they are painted but heck they are soooooooo cute
and so was the scene beneath out knit knot treePhoto by c. bayrak of a wedding under the knit knot tree in yellow spring, Ohio
That is what we do as artists, indulge in our need to express ourselves
GUILTY as CHARGED

So what little indulgences are YOU guilty of?

Well, duh. I just realized that the couple was there at the knit knot tree, to "tie the knot"! Does it make you smile when you see the effect of your knitting?

I guess just getting up in the morning and doing the blog thingee...reading everyone's thoughts and writing my drivel.

I really do have to get a life!
I can just see that as a criminal charge in the cops ticket book, "littering with attempted self indulgent cuteness". The judge would sentence you to 40 hours hard labor knitting mittens for kittens.

Chocolate mainly. Oh, you mean how do I indulge in my need to express myself? Umm... I used to sing on my karaoke machine at home a lot, but our deaf neighbour has moved and now we have a hearing one so I'm too scared now! These days I sing along to loud music in the car and maybe even dance a little bit while driving. It just has to be done! I just hope I don't get spotted by the police!

The couple getting married under the knit knot tree is very cute! I must admit, I'm surprised by the paintings. I didn't see you as a cutie painter, but you are obviously multi talented!

ROFLOL, oh Bill that is funny.

Colette, JUST doing the blog thingee! JUST! Not many people can do that and do it so well. Your observations, photography and writing are your art, your unique way of expressing.

Yes, Jan, that is where I get the ego trip I think, seeing people smile because of something I did. How cool is that eh!

ha ha chocolate undaunted, that works. And then there is the ultimate, driving while listening to loud music, dancing and eating chocolate. woo hoo!!!!!!!

Oh The knit knot, tying the knot tree. I love this!
They look so happy.

Artistic self-indulgences?
Wow. Hmmmm......making too many crazy head rattles that pile up in the studio. No one buys them, or even picks them up at shows and they accumulate like ants.

Aww, you had a wedding under the knitknot tree, that's awesome! I guess my indulgence would be chocolate, licorice and buying art supplies! That's all I can think of for right now but I know there's more. :)

Someone might see "self-indulgent cuteness," but I see a gift, a wake-up call and a source of both inspiration and beautification... quite the opposite of littering.

Since spending time on your blog and in Yellow Springs, my answer to the question "What career, other than your own, would you like to attempt?" inevitably includes some form of "Graffiti Artist."

Love the knit trees (and signs, etc). Rock on!

thanks Dan, yep had I to do it over I think I would have got started on the graffiti a LOT sooner.

I LOVE your rattles painter girl. It is hard to know what will take off isn't it. Maybe one day you will do an installation of them all, that would be very cool "rattle the world".

Man, you and me with the licorice Lyn. I LOVE Australian or Brit licorice, but not keen on the salty licorice.

Ah, littering with calling cards deb lol. I can relate.

Dalek. So is that just per Dr Who? or does that apply to the hip hop band Daleks as well?
jafabrit said…
My guess Mark is that the Band gets to say how they want it pronounced :)

problem is I feel a wee bit sorry for him, what with being attacked by some limbs of a tree lately. He looks preety shook up already.
