painting on wood

"Antinous" oil on poplar wood sold I keep meaning to get around to doing more of these small black and white paintings. Ever heard that before fellow artists LOL! I find this type of painting very soothing and I love the feel of painting on poplar wood. I usually sand the wood until it is very smooth and then use a gesso for wood supports and do two coats, sand again and then use a black gesso. Well, let's see what I get around to because lately I seem to be faffing about when it comes to serious painting. I have ideas but I just can't seem to get started. I just KNOW you

His eye seems to be slowly healing but there are a couple of issues that will need to be watched (excuse the pun).

I definitely relate to that! I thought it was just me being lazy! I'm glad I'm not the only one!

I love this painting of yours. You say it's small - what size is it?
Nice!!
I know EXACTLY what you are saying. They can come faster than I have hope of finishing them....

Great painting. This reminds me that I need to get back and start painting. The elections have been my sole attention grabber for the last month or so...

Gorgeous is the word and that depth is just stunning! Ha, I just made a post about the poplar tree in our backyard, I'm looking at it in a different light now. I'm glad to hear that your son's eye is healing but sorry to hear about the issues they are watching.

That's really beautiful! And I totally know what you mean about "meaning to get around to doing more..."

So little time, so much to create!
