Ghosts of Antioch

Graffiti outside Birch Hall

Well I didn't actually see any ghosts but it was very very sad to see Antioch College nothing more than a ghost campus, shut down and quiet.
This was Antioch
Rod Serling wandered the halls, as did Coretta Scott King, and so many others but their voices still ring out.

I am a nonstopian
I signed up for a credit class with the Nonstop Liberal Arts Institute (they are a partnership of ex Antioch Faculty, alumni, students staff and friends of Antioch College AND the Village of Yellow Springs). It is a Drawing Within the Community class. Keep your fingers crossed it fills up because I am really excited about it.

I, too, will be a Nostopian. I'm going to take Al Denman's Saturday class on the Qur'an and Islam.

My daughter roamed those halls until April, when she was a member of the last graduating class.

There will be a fundraiser for Nontop in Cincinnati at the Know Theatre on Jackson Street on Friday, September 12, from 7 to 9 pm.

Do you just prep the cans with gesso when you paint them? I'm intrigued to know more about the process.
Good luck with the course. Sounds like fun!

Thanks sarah :)

It must have been a bittersweet graduation for your daughter meridian. Thanks for dropping by and the info. All the best with your class :)

Lana, yes, just gesso them and then paint with acrylic or oil paint.
Haha. Cool!

Ha, cool painting!

My parents went to Antioch, in the 70s.
