Coffee, and Found Art,

My son took this photo in Taiwan. Wonder if it was as strong as the coffee this teen from County Durham overdosed on.

Mind you researchers have found that drinking three cups of coffee or caffeine a day might help protect "female memory" (apparently it doesn't help men). Doesn't seem to have helped me much either, DRAT! Supposed to help with sex drive too, HAH! and help relieve gym pain, HAH!

I think I will just stick with me cup of tea.

ART NEWS

Did a few pieces of found art (not art made from found objects as per
objet trouvé-
but art made with the intent to be found) for the October Art Stroll Event at the Hip Joint the YSArts Council is arranging. Talitha the Tongue gave me this weird shaped stone, which I quickly painted with acrylic and call "the snotty artist". The theme of the event is street art and we will be asking visitors/artists to bring some art or make some and then leave it in town somewhere.

Love the snoty artist...I think he's a lost family member. Good luck on the show...I am thinking more and more about found art (art made to be found) because you inspire me all the freakin time my lady. I think the uptight folks in KY need some BAD! Kitty found art...it'll probably rock their boats just a bit. *wicked grins*

hehe, love the song- I thought that was directed towards me!

Caffeine is good - I think I drink 8 cups a day, not espresso though...

I like snotty artist - I've been meaning to follow in your stead and leave some found ceramic art around town. BTW, Thank you for your doll! :D

Gee! Yellow Springs sounds like my kind of town, what with prams up trees and Snotty Artists lying around.
It's a wonderful idea and if I was close enough I'd be in quicker than you can say supercalifragilistidexpialodocious.

Oh, by the way...picked up the Bernina today (soon as the double hernia's ok I'll get to the doll)But first I need caffeine!

I need to come up with some found art also.

I usually drink about 2-3 mugs of coffee in the morning -- tho the coffee pot say it is 6 cups. I think I am forgetful now. I would hate to find out what I would be like without the caffeine -- tho I probably wouldnt be running to the bathroom as much! :-)

I love this idea.... I made a group of painted rocks a bit ago and never really did anything with them. I think you've just directed me towards their purpose. Thank you, you fabulous woman, you... :)

ps: my word verification for this post is burms.... wonder what THAT means? i picture something like a hot bun or a tart. hahaha something to eat with your cup of tea. (speaking from a fellow tea drinker - my heart races with coffee).

I love the 'snotty artist' rock hehe, that look is perfect on the face! I read your link about the teen who overdosed on caffeine and that is downright scary! I love my coffee and make 2 pots a day but my god I didn't know a person could actually overdose on the stuff, wow!

I love snotty artist. I can not wait for the show. WE will be there.

This found art is very cool stuff...just one of the many reasons we love YS.

OH and I totally love your rabbit tea pot.

I prefer tea too...my memory is already shot to Hell. Caffiene could not help it. *grin*

Hugs,
Sue

Hey, JB, long time, no read! (or write, heh, heh)

I gave up coffee years ago. One morning, while in the company break room taking advantage of their FREE coffee policy, I suddenly realized that my idea of a cup of coffee was this:

Take 1 favorite mug

Fill 3/4 with coffee

Pour in several ounces of milk

Add two teaspoons sugar

Dump in 12 chocolate M&Ms or 3 Hershey's Kisses.

Stir.

Drink.

Repeat.

(4 hours later) Repeat, again.

Yep, milky-choco-coffee had become my major food group!

I walked away from it, cold turkey, never to return. I never liked the taste or smell of it, but it made a GREAT mixer-base for milk & milk chocolate!

These days, I get my morning jollies from a genteel cup of Earl Grey -- with just a splash of cream and one sugar, of course. Yum!

Your snotty artist looks as though he's gone a few rounds in the boxing ring!
