Waiting for the Paint to Dry

Doing patches of reverse painting on a large panel. Haven't got a plan. It isn't as easy as small panels as I can't stretch my arm around the back and look from the front as I paint. So while I am waiting for the paint to dry: Researchers are now saying exercising makes us smarter. So like I need another excuse to exercise I thought, Hum! treadmill here I come.

So I put the telly on,but can't hear it over the hum of the treadmill, shut my eyes. god has it only been 5 mins. okay so how can I describe in a short sentence what existentialism is? poop, what am I going to make for dinner. open eyes. god has it only been 6 mins. wonder what I will paint next. man my legs are tired. you know hah! I have known people who have exercised their brains out and you could trip over their iq. yes! epiphany! will make beef bolognese for dinner. yea 5 mins to go.

I got off the treadmill, tripped over something up the stairs (not my IQ you cheeky so and so's), phone rang, took the dogs out, changed my top, and started dinner. Haven't had time to think so I can't tell you if I.m smarter or not! Beef Bolognese was good though :)

Oh, err! blushing! err! if you want to see my austin powers look then check out Philip's blog interview of yours truly.

I followed my nose over here from Philip Edson's blog (there are two kinds of people in the world: those who follow links and those who don't...). Looks like you're having some fun and I'm missing out! :) And I love the term interstitial artist -- I think I might be one of those. Must check that link out next.

Gee, I'd be a freaking genius if exercising truly made one smart. I'm not sure about it, but it does help me sort stuff out, including what's for dinner!

I'm going to check out Philip's blog now...

hi--thanks for the comment on my blog today--and for signing my buddy map. I hate waiting for paint to dry;-(
but I like your art here;-) I am curious--how did you find my blog?

hi aurora, err, I think you left a comment on lone beaders blog? I go so many places so fast I lose track lol!
thanks margaret. angela, I am a lazy gal, but I really do have to exercise coz my metabolizm went on holiday and even sniffing a choccy bar puts lbs on ;}
thanks for dropping by andrea. I think interstitial sounds all posh and artsy fartsy but it certainly is a good description.
cynthia, are you kidding, me thinks all that marathon stuff has made you very smart :) in the heart and mind.
thanks shelly, jan. glad my bad glasses and teeth day still bring a chuckle.

Yeah baby yeah!
Just loved your interview and insight into the workings of your very fertile mind. I only wish I could happen upon a little rubber cockroach or similar...
You're switched on! You're smashing! You're shagadelic, baby!
Your art is insanely good and I love it.
Just get off that exercise machine before you take an eye out!
Great post. Loved the interview ... you are way too cute to ever "really" look like Austin Powers. The reverse painting is great... love what you have going on here.

I like the reverse painting. Pain ting on the front seems hard enough. I am waiting for my treadmill to come with the furniture from th eold house.
Don't ya hate waiting for the paint to dry??

Hey if excersise made me smarter...I don't know it's too early to finish that statement. I was wondering if putting the art you are working on (for the reverse painting) would be easier to do if you placed it in front of a mirror? Then you could see what you are doing without streching your arm behind it...maybe?
Off to read the other blog...have a great day! Oh, I love the new work...btw.

Oh duh! This "would be easier to do if you placed it in front of a mirror?" it too logical. Now why didn't I think of that ha! so much for bloody exercise lol!
I loved reading your interview and in the first picture you look so YOUNG. My treadmill time is at the YMCA while watching HGTV. Since they put TV's on the cardio equipment I walk much further. I don't know if I'm any smarter though. I like the flower and vine motif that I have been seeing in several of your pieces.

I have just realised that there was one question I forgot to ask ..... have you ever thought fo changing your surname to Smith?
jafabrit said…
thanks still waters :) would be nice to have a little tv attached to the front of the treadmill and earphones.

philip, LOL! I sometimes tell people smith when they ask how to pronounce it (usually gets a chuckle. You know how many years its taken for me to be able to recite it over the phone without having to start at the beginning when interupted. YEARS!!!!!!! LOL! ;)

My husband has a treadmill in the bedroom which he hasn't used in several months now (rolling my eyes).
I also love the term "interstitial" and I must have missed seeing it in the WC thread, it's new to me.
