This is a piece I am working on. I have painted her nails red since I took this photograph. Based on the story of a soldier who one day is killing and fighting and another day is back home. He is by the seaside and people are eating ice cream and it is so normal he can't get his head around it. I called it "sacrficial sundae" because the war isn't a reality for the vast majority of people unless they have family in the military. The only people who are making a sacrfice are the military families and soldiers.
