Acrylic reverse painting on plastic

He looked like a fisherman and "fish felt pain" popped into my mind, hence the title.

I always thought the hook would hurt them when I was little and would make my dad throw take it out quick and then throw it back, if I would cry. Good story for a girl whose family lived on Lake Erie for awhile.. what do you do all day? Fish and Boat, boat and fish... oh and drink, but I wasn't old enough then!
I say Yes, but hate that, b/c I have slowly cut meat out of my diet and have been doing quite a lot of seafood and fish.. oh no!!!!
and as always- great painting!

I used to live on Lake Erie, too. And, yes, fish feel pain. Why else would they thrash about when they are being reeled in!

Neat painting. Do you find reverse paintings like that difficult? I'm sure there's some advance planning going on there...
Whether or not fish feel pain, I stopped fishing years ago when I put myself in their place. If I sat down to a Whopper at Burger King one day & someone yanked a hook through my cheek & started dragging me out of the restaurant, I would NOT be pleased!

lana, some reverse paintings take thought and time, especially if I involve collage. This one didn't take long, just did a loose drawing with marker on the front and did a loose painting on back.

hiay jen, I hate to think of any animal suffering, let alone one's that I wish to eat. arg! like you I have cut down on meat considerably over the years due to my abhorrence of farming and slaughter practices.

Did you like living near Lake Erie Lone Beader?

I know undaunted lol! but sometimes I just seem to go there. hee! hee!

I am under the impression that fish feel pain. But are fish under the same impression? I dunno.

Fabulous painting! When I come here, I try to be prepare to be amazed. But I'm never prepared.

Yep, very striking picture Jafabrit. I just can't understand the logic behind the idea that an animal (of whatever description) wouldn't feel pain...because they've got rubbery lips?! Or what?? I bet Mick Jagger doesn't have the same problem...
