Gothic Shrine Box

I knew I wanted this style box to house my heart embroidery (which I haven't even started yet), so I built this on Friday out of mdf board, scrapbook stencil paper, nails, old handle plate, and a cut out portion of an old bracelet. I gessoed it with black, added some red and green acyrlic then wiped on gold leaf paint (icky smelly stuff). Have to add hinges for the doors and finish the left side of the door. I love it when I can use scrap pieces around the garage and studio and make something like this.
Now to get on with the embroidery.
