Funny how you can miss some things you didn't expect to. I miss these. They used to sit on my coffee table. One by one they got sold off or incorporated into other art pieces. One of these days I will have to find some new stones and paint faces on them. Meanwhile another artist is getting a lot of attention for her faces on potatoes and what fun they are too. This one however wasn't planned, it just naturally looked like an unhappy potato sitting on my neighbours shelf above the cooker.

The potato faces look like they are actually waterslide decals. Not nearly impressive as your catacomb in a bowl :) Your embroidery design is very chic and I am blown away by the shot from your sketchbook!
I agree with Bill, your faces are much more interesting than the photographs on decals on potatoes. Have you been in Would You, Could You lately? Sheryl has a bowl of pottery faces, but they are a little more upbeat and less varied than yours. Love them!!
thanks Linda, I used to collect the most awesome river stones in New Jersey which were a joy to paint on. Have never found any in ohio on my walks in the state parks. One of these if I find some I will do more.

Maybe you could have a postbox where people could send you stones from around the country/world.
Love the faces, it's like a collection of people trapped in a bowl. Would be great to give to kids and ask them to make up back stories.
Or adults for that matter...

Yes, yours are definitely better, there is no comparison in fact. This kind of crap happens a lot to me. Almost every time I am about to exhibit in fact. I rather over it all. That is why—for the first time; that I am keeping mum concerning the details of what s going into my exhibition in Feb 2010. I have to say that you are really on to something with the embroidery JB. I absolutely love it.

I think that is wise. Even if people don't intentionally use your ideas they can be influenced and it shows up in their work.
As the saying goes: "Don't throw the first stone." If I got one I'd certainly hold on to it. You are a creative artist.
And yes...the little spud does look lonely. Maybe set beside a small platter of fries?
Great artwork on those stones! I can see why you miss them! I love doing portrait work, but never in a thousand years would have thought to put them on flat stones like that. Only YOU would do something like that and that's why I'm one of your fans, mate!!
Ralph, I think putting the potato next to fries would be highly traumatic and ill-advised. It would probably give the potato nightmares about vats of bubbling oil.

I really liked your rock faces! If you had sold them on Etsy, I would have bought one! But, of course, what could I do with just one... I would need a whole bowl!
