Halloween Creep

Halloween crafts
I had fun making these felt skull pins a few years ago and so easy to make. I hope they inspire you for trick or treat.

NOTE:  thanks to Sandi for the loan of her fabulous vintage Shirley Temple Doll. It has been fun taking photos of her.

If you would like to use my pics, just ask :) and leave comment here or use contact form. I am flexible and more than happy to share or licence my images when asked.

cute cat on crochet rug

Actually it is a mini rug. It is a commissioned rug my friend Karen did for a friend's faerie house. I was asked to take a pic of it and she loved it.

Reception at IN A FRAME for my embroidery butterfly series went well, although I was a wee bit naughty and snuck out of my own reception to visit Mary Ellen Croteau's talk next door at the arts council, and then Talitha's opening reception too. Was a GREAT art stroll night in town.
Thanks to all of you who made it to the reception. I was teamed up with two  great artists Liz Zaff and Travis Hotaling and it was a fun night.

Springfield Art Museum and IN A FRAME

chalk trees at museum
Been rather busy around these parts, traveling, putting up an interactive exhibit at the Springfield Museum of Art. Our jafagirl display will be up for 6 months so plenty of time to see it.

Face It Friday:graphite powder

Art Pal Sandi and I challenged each other to draw/paint a face each Friday to keep us on our creative toes ;) I decided to use my weeping angel photo as a reference and used graphite powder,  kneaded rubber eraser and  mitsu-bishi pencil. Not very polished, but the main goal is to just do a face rather than worry too much about the finished product.

For those who want to explore using graphite powder here is a video tutorial from the Virtual Instructor.
I wanted to play with the image further so took an iphone pic and played with a couple of apps until I got it where I wanted.
Hope you enjoyed visiting
cheers and have a great weekend
