It looks that way in the pic with the sun reflecting off the needle.
This is part of my current piece and very tedious, all long & short stitch, but I'm liking the effect and the abstract elements.
One of my favourite Abstract Embroidery artists is Takashi Iwasaki
It has a lovely Juan Miro feel to it. The colours, compositions and patterns are beautifully done.

Oh. My. Gawd. One of my FAVORITE FAVORITE artists is Miro. Even before I found the language of embroidery, he was there, a beacon leaving a geometrical trail of incandescent art... we are indeed artistic sisters from another mother!!!!!!!! Love this post!
Hey, Ms. C...
The Iwasakis are really interesting...a new twist and they remind me alot of the current style(s) of illustration I was seeing over on Grainedit a while ago. Especially that Dan Stiles guy, etc.

But I still like yours better. The 'joie' aspect you so often infuse into your work is so refreshing.
Anyway....interesting observation about the needle. But I respectfully submit that it's a magic WAND. :-) (Hey I NEED one of those!)
