Finished Skeleton Embroidery

Now I don't know what to do with it because what I thought I was going to do didn't quite work out. Now it is going to have to sit in my studio for a while until an idea hits me. I have learned one thing about myself, never pays to rush. Even though I feel guilty at times for seeming like a snail I am constantly reminded of why it is important for me to pace myself. Same thing happened with my last embroidery but I am much happier with the eye in the "ego contemno bitches" than what I originally planned.
I do know that I want to incorporate it into an assemblage, but how remains to be seen.
Not using that mounting board again for embroidery, arg, shows up stray threads.

Working on a painted version
Has a very Los Muertos look which was not intentional
but hey the MUSE is in charge
I know where my muse is NOT and it isn't in Francis Bacon's old haunt

I have the dvd of the South Bank show interview by Melvyn Bragg but you can see the whole series I believe at Radical Films site.

hiay VioLet, yes the self-adhesive and I agree, don't like it.
When you mentioned Bacon's old haunt I thought I might end up at pix of Reese meadows studio. http://www.twocoatsofpaint.com/2009/05/why-bacon.html I know the feeling when something doesn't have the context you imagined; so you just have to sit and wait for that muse. Looks like you're exploring possibilities with that exquisite painting. Thanks for the shout out :) p.s. I'm also a fan of Art in Stitches.

When I realized what the soundtrack was, I laughed out loud. Can't wait to see what you do with the skeleton.

I enjoyed visiting your link Bill. I liked seeing Bacon's photographs as much as the paintings.

there is something very telling, intriguing about Bacon's choices of images and what he has done to some of them.

I like you work. The skeleton is unique.

What would I do with it? I often see images within images, and looking at the genitals a somewhat perverse side of me was triggered. I saw a face with two eyes (wrapped in glasses, and a long nose. I then imagined putting a word/thought balloon there (comic style) and the face thinking: "Why am I dangling here?"

(glad this comment is being moderated before posting.)

You are a good artist.
I really like it!

Hey Jafa! The skeleton is terrific.
I can't wait to see how you use it. And the painting is lovely. Beautiful work.

Looks as if he's suffered a severe fracture of the left tibia! But I really like it, also the painted one.

I clicked on the photo to enlarge, and Wow! Your stitching is so neat! (As in tidy, but also neat in a cool way too!) I'm not sure if I would have the patience.
