Turkish Birthday Dinner
"Drinking Turkish coffee is a centuries-old rMy husband did the reading since he learned how to growing up, plus the skill runs in the family ( his sister is a well known psychic/bio energy healer in Turkey). I didn't have the coffee I had a yogurt drink called Ayran ,which is very refreshing (and rivals soda sales, mcdonalds has it on their menu over there).
This was our appetizer "Hummus, Patlican Salatasi, Yaprak Dolmasi, Ezme, Kisir, Pilaki, Haydari and Soslu Patlican." Haydari was delish! It is a thickened homemade yogurt with fresh dill, mint, garlic and walnut.
If you live in the Dayton area and want to try authentic Turkish food (Active Dayton review) I recommend this restuarant as the ambience, service, quality of food is top notch.

Well sort of! The focus isn't the jafagirls but The Columbia Chronicle article by Berthe Serrano did use my pics and quote me. Not this one on the left, that is Daisy Doll on Dayton Street waiting for spring, woo hoo!!!!!
IN THE STUDIO
Not!
Really, I am dithering and dathering and blathering!
Oh I have another NEW idea for my solo exhibit (which I said I didn't want to do-arg!) next year.
I don't think it will be paintings, more like an installation with some drawing or photography. I don't know, maybe, perhaps.
Oh bugger!

That food looks amazing! I have never been to a Turkish restaurant, your post is inspiring me to look into what's in our area. Happy birthday to your son!
Happy Birthday to the son and I am thinking I need some of that healing from the sister in law. And some of that food for it looks delish!
Good luck with the treadmill!
Sounds delish and exotic! (the food and fortune telling) :)
I just noticed you commented on my journal a while back with your blog link. So I finally saw it and I'm just now adding you to my blog reading list!
Oh my goodness, the contents of that cup looks like CHOCOLATE! MMMMMM!
Love the photo of the recent knitting. Congratulations for being mentioned / quoted in the article! It's a shame not every area is as supportive as Yellow Springs.
That's the first I've ever heard of reading coffee. Sounds like a cozy tradition: a good excuse to drink coffee with friends and family.
Yum, I LOVE Turkish food. I could never get used to the taste of ayran though.. ewww.
I never really had an appreciation for food until I first went to Turkiye. I just wish I could find some good baklava in Australia!
