Bing Davis

Bing Davis

I attended the REACH Across Dayton Conference on Friday 27th Feb and did an "Adornment as Art" workshop with Bing Davis. I came up with this.

It is not the first time I have met Bing Davis, several years ago a friend and I popped into his gallery/studio and he spent a good 2 hours showing us around and answering questions. He is one of the most gracious men I have ever met, and frankly I was floored that he took so much time out of his very busy day to talk to us.

And to the dear reader (Teresa) who recognized me at the conference, it was lovely to meet you and hey email me anytime you want to stick that knitting up on that statue :)

March and it's Woman's History Month
and this year's theme is: Women Taking the Lead to Save our Planet

Well I suppose I am already participating in a sense by repurposing resistors and capacitors into a necklace and also recycling materials (yarn, hubcaps, crushed cans, old vinyl records) for various art projects. Once again I would like to share one of my favourite blogs, art for housewives, which highlights a gazillion repurposed materials into objects of art or for utilitarian purposes.
Here is a site devoted to Recycled Art
