Art or Ad?

What do you think? Seems a shame really because one of the charms in this country is roadside art advertizing a business (although this is just a mural). What is even more sad is that this man invested his life savings to renovate a dilapidated old building that was probably a major eyesore and turned it into a business.
The Saga continues as the owners are now being cited for their first ammendent rights banner which they draped over the mural. Here is the support website Keep the Fish

Here is a mural advertizing ha ha pizza in Yellow Springs, Ohio and I can't speak for others, but it is fun to look at, and it adds to what makes our Village attractive to residents & visitors alike.

This is one of my fave pics because it brings together several elements, our knit knot tree, reflection of the tree, Pierre's beautiful mural on the side of Emporium/Underdog Cafe and a visual indication of what Yellow Springs is about.

By the way due to popular demand the Knit Knot Tree will be coming back this fall.
More about that later.

Somehow I think Clearwater is missing the point, public art, murals, even shoes in trees can become attractions that bring visitors, bring income, and brighten up a place .

Talking about public art, err, here is my newest street stickerIf any of you "dared" used the word OBEY in your art and post it on your blog,
send me your link to share here.
