Art Fairie's at It Again - Found Art

Well we just can't seem to help ourselves (Nancy and Moi that is) LOL! Tuesdays are our day to walk and then exercise/ unleash our creative mischief. So we decided to add a little knitting and flowers outside the Nolaa Gallery, much to Jafa Jens delight, and add lace to a tree outside the Village Artisans.

Since it was Found Art Tuesday, I left this little flower painted
cd piece on the side of a newsstand.

Rosa Murillo's theme is "a good message" and mine is

Awake, thou wintry earth
Fling off thy sadness!
Fair vernal flowers, laugh forth
Your ancient gladness!
Thomas Blackburn

Got got to check out this gal, Ulrika, who does public embroidery, talk about COOL!
"Cross stiching performed on seats in buses and trains."

this is soooooo cool
Public embroidery is great! Imagine if I did public bead embroidery. I think I would get caught doing it because my beads will have spilled all over the place. LOL.

I particularly like the tree with the lace wrapped around it - it's beautiful!

Urban decorating aside, I love that building in the second photo. Is that a vacant store front? Can i rent it?

oh so many of us have had our beady eyes on that building andrea lol! Alas the rent too high and it needed major repairs. Someone has rented it though, to open a restaurant :)

You could do mini beading on scraps and sew them on lonebeader :) I have visions with you on your hands and knees on a bus trying to collect all the beads LOL! nightmare.

We used an old lace doily I had undaunted and I do think it quite pretty, and wonderfully unobtrusive.

Thanks margaret :)

Looks like the lace tree is popular. I too vote for its coolness.

Looks as though you've slipped that tree into a bit of lingerie! Love it!

So fun - the CD looks like it could be a part of the newsaper box - someone will really have to be alert and willing to investigate further. :D

The public embroidery, while so traditional a medium, seems so well, naughty and edgy.

Oh I totally agree with Cynthia - when I first saw that embroidery on those seats I gasped and thought "Oh that's terrible!" it really is graffiti! But actually I think it looks really cool and it would certainly help to brighten up Britain's dingey public transport! Not that I'm going to try - I'd probably get arrested! People really need to lighten up.

I love your 'found art' idea and I imagine that you have brightened up many people's days who finds the art!
Corinne, you just recieved an award in my blog!! :)
Corrine - every time I visit your blog there is something slightly sinful to smile about. Cross stitch graffiti? This woman will probably be tried as a witch unless she can float.

You Jafa's are so much fun! I think we need to start Jafa Chapters all over the world. We should organize a Jafa's for peace rally, or a Jafa's save the world with art day...or something. It don't seem quite fair that your town gets to have all of you and all the fun too! LOL Just kidding!
