Meanwhile in the Studio

The jafagirls got together in my studio and experimented in our sketchbooks. The goal was not to spend time thinking about it, just rip a picture out of a magazine and start to paint over or around it. Mine ended up looking very Basquiat like, and I am not sure Rufus liked the way I depicted him (or maybe he did as he imagines himself to be quite a scary big brute).

What a fun exercise! But what magazine did the weird baby picture come out of?

Sounds like fun. I'd like to try it, but I seem to be the only one in my group to keep a sketchbook and then only sporadically.
Definitely a Basquiat knock off but I think you think more people than he did... I can tell yours is a person and not a turd on the sidewalk. I agree with the dog, it can be helpful at times to present as a bit ready to strike. Maybe he's an artist too and you just captured his inner attitude!

thanks for dropping by donald and bringing a smile to my face.
well I hadn't intended it to be a bas quiat knockoff but I basquiat I got-minus the turd! LOL

hiay mr.zip, how are you? It was fun just to goof about with friends, and play in the sketchbook. I think next time we are going to go and sketch at the musueum, maybe, if we are in the mood.
