Sketchbook Studies

Just experimenting with an idea.
This is the music I was listening to when I was playing in my sketchbook. I know! kind of a saucy song, but I am innocent, I swear it! All I heard was the beat and she's got skillz bit, which resonated with me.
I don't know about some of you, but when I'm in the zone I'm not paying attention to much else. The beat becomes a primal part of the "potion in the motion" when painting.

I found the nameless tape in a box and found myself listening to an interesting mix of music. Children!!!!!!!!!!

I listen to music all the time when working and some times I catch myself dancing without really being conscious of it. "Shake it to the left...."

I have the Guerrilla Girl's bedside companion - sitting, you guessed it - on my nightstand. Wouldn't it be interesting if artists were anonymous and work was revered because of the piece and not the celebrity aspect, gender or race?

I agree, women shouldn't automatically be given x amount of spots in a museum or gallery - it should be earned. I did a whole series of papers in college based on artists and gender. After gender comes money and social status. Many of the women artists who did make it historically, did so because of their social status. Not true anymore - but every so often I pick up an issue of Elle Decor or House Beautiful or some other design magazine and there's always a tid bit about an artist. I'm always surprised at the famous names I see. Not famous because of their art - but because of their connections to famous designers, actors, singers etc. Okay, I'll stop now...

Wanted to wish you a beautiful Thanksgiving Day..I hope it was lovely no matter the rain!

Love the music..it is on here so often and even more often it is something of Grace's. I fear I know far more songs by Hannah Montana now that I do anything else. *sigh*

I always enjoy reading your posts and learn so much...

Hugs,
Sue
