sketchbook: graffiti

After I had glued the WIP pic of the painting I'm working on into my sketchbook the page looked empty and sad, so I played with the graffiti theme. I added bits of things I found around the studio too, like the kissing couple (wrapping paper). The eye top right is from a printout of my angel reverse painting at the left.

Voices

There are some voices I love listening to, and one of those is Richard Burton. What a voice! If you would like to hear him reciting Dylan Thomas' "Under Milk Wood" in full you can listen here.

A silly poem
Spike Milligan
Said Hamlet to Ophelia,
I'll draw a sketch of thee,
What kind of pencil shall I use?
2B or not 2B?

Thanks angela, it seems I am pulling all sorts of elements together, weaving back and forth. That in itself sort of fits with the theme of fragments and quilting all the pieces together.
Very creative. It makes for great looking ... especially after reading your post. As usual a great read.

Oh wow. These pieces are so fantastic and that portrait on wood just blows me away.
I can not wait for the art stroll...we are planning on being there. : )
I have seen that part of the bike trail a few times!

Ooh...Ruchard Burton's voice was like syrup. Buttery syrup. I love Alan Rickman's for the same reasons.

Hugs,
Sue

I need to come back and listen to Richard Burton later...but glad that I wasn't disappointed to see you playing around with grafitti imagery. The addition of the wrapping paper couple makes it.

You make amazing art. It's soulful and colorful and deep.

I love mixed media, layered, assemblage style art. It's fascinating how the brain works when we free it from the one dimensional.

Wonderful stuff!

Oh I think we are cut of the same cloth...
Richard Burton's voice is so deliciously velvety. I absolutely loved my records of War of the Worlds because of his voice. Beautiful...
And Spike Milligan!! Oh what a genius. I have a book of his poems. I love the one about the little froggy..

I just love what you have done with your work. It is gloriously layered and textural.

Thank you again for Richard Burton. It has got my day off to a deliciously syrupy start. mmm
