WIP: Oh Poo!

"oh Poo!"
I'm stuck in the loo, can't escape, how about you! Okay! Okay! I am NOT a poet. If you don't enjoy potty humor poetry then skip Porcelain Poetry, but if you want to see some AMAZING bathroom fixtures then visit Clark Sorenson's wesbite.
Some artists have already done their paintings for the ChamberPot Gallery, so I thought I had better get my act together and start mine. This is based on a photo I took of my daughter. I wanted it to have a stencil cut out look almost reminicent of Banksy. Here is a link to some examples of his work on his website. I LOVE the one of the maid painted on the old brick/stone wall sweeping the dirt off the pavement. The idea of the painting and title came when I was with Nancy helping switch the paintings between bathrooms and my odiferous sensibilites were assaulted with a smell that made my toes curl. Thank goodness there isn't a odor emitting widget on our computers (yet) so I couldn't share this horror with you. Suffice it to say a good idea came of it.
Referenced photograph of the Banksy maid was taken by Simon Crubellier.

Funny. I could see it in the men's room first. :-)

how did you guess that this is where the idea was borne LOL!
I really like the painting, very stencil like and lifelike at the same time.
Thanks for the links too! LOVE, LOVE, LOVE those flower urinals!! And the Banksy works are awesome too.

I could almost smell the smell when I looked at that picture.
I had to share the urinal and bansky pictures with my daughter-in-law. We both had a good laugh. I could just picture men coming in and seeing a pink orchid in the men's room. The picture of your daughter is great! I'd love to see the results if you do a stencil of it.
I mean Banksy. Oops!

Oh thank you for sharing the links...we had a great time looking.
LOVE the picture...we just HAVE to get over to Chamberpot.
If Bill could stay home long enough...he got home tonight and has to return Monday. We have my nephew this weekend so, phooey. Maybe next week...at least the weather is warmer. I drove around with the moonroof open this afternoon! Felt so good...

OH!!! I have to share...the word verification just popped up and, after reading about urinals and potties...the letters are P N M E
P O. NO KIDDING!!!!
Peein' Me Po How funny is that???
Hugs,
Sue

What a lovely painting and LOL you captured the expression of smelling something stinky so well here hehe!! I swear J.B. I remember reading or hearing somewhere that they made some computers with sensory somthing or others that would emit fragrances somehow when browsing but some smells we sure wouldn't want to smell through the puter LOL! Thanks for the smile and the links today!

Love the painting. Can't recall how I came across you site but the "Jafa" part made me think for a moment you might be a New Zealander ("just another f....g Aucklander" is what that stands for over here!). You have an interesting blog - like the post before this - reminds me of quilts I made with my daughter (years ago) where she made the artworks on fabric and I sewed the quilts. You are very creative.

Oh, I came across Banksy a while ago through this quote that appeared somewhere "The holy grail is to spend less time making the picture than it takes people to look at it".

Hmmm, maybe I should explain the 'jafa' thing a bit more - don't want to offend! Auckland is the largest city in New Zealand, near the top of the country, and sometimes there is very much an "us and them" attitude about people from there and so the nickname was born...

Hi sandra, thanks for dropping by and the comments. I found the banksy quote interesting.

It is unfortunate, but yes I had heard about the aukland thing :( I don't suppose being a jafa would serve me well as an artist in new zealand eeeeek!

I can't help but notice that that Banksy photo appears to be mine. Could you please credit it and include a link back to it on flickr?
