SKetchbook musings

One of the best things ever happened was having a teacher (Marie Linnekin) who encouraged us to use our sketchbooks as playgrounds for the imagination. To put anything and everything into it. Words, ideas, scribbles, fave art, bits of fabric, jokes, whatever! As you can see I am a fan of Basquiat. I often don't like my current sketchbook (not sure why). I usually go back to the previous one and explore and enjoy seeing how ideas evolved and get inspired.

Wow, I love your sketch book musings! I'm visiting from WC and stumbled in. I love when I go to a museum and an artist's sketchbook is displayed along with the finished art.

thanks cynthia, glad you popped in. I have several friends that always ask to see my sketchbook, so I thought I would start posting some of the pages now and again.
Like you, when I visit a musuem, I like to see the artists sketchbook. It is rare a museum does this though :(
Ah the Visual diary is an artist's best friend.
I would be lost without mine.

thanks for visiting methinkith. I know the feeling :). I often just spend time looking through my old one's. I find new inspiriation or just enjoy wandering in the playground of my mind of past times.
