So who's the egghead?

My son bought me a ceramic egg for christmas that you crack open and grow thyme in. I watered and watered for a few weeks and thought to myself, " gosh this is taking a long time to sprout." So my daughter is over and asking about it and I tell her, "I keep watering it, but nothing is happening." she says, "did you put the seeds in it?" errr, OOPS! Duh! the seeds were in the box that the egg came in LOL!!!!!!!!

On the more sucessful note, I managed to paint some nazar bonjuks on stones for jafa girl secret art project. Hope people enjoy them :)

What a dog!!!!!!!!

A lot of people ask me about my work since it can be very political or making some social statement. I have a love of painting the human face, am intrigued by the human condition and have a deeply empathetic soul. I guess those factors play into my work, but I don’t actually sit down and plan to do social or political art. Believe it or not, there are times when I am moved to do something that speaks to the joys in life. This is toots (now residing in doggie heaven), and boy was she a bad bad bad drooly, smelly, naughty, greedy doggy BUT we LOVED her. why has she got a pepsi can on her head? My children were eating pizza and as usual she was wanting a bit. My son bet my daughter toots would keep still long enough to keep a pepsi can on her head if she thought the morsel of pizza was coming her way.I think she kept it on her head about 5 minutes. I am sure it could have been longer, toots could sit an hour staring at a piece of food if she thought it might come her way.

Living the artful life!

This has got to be one of the the ugliest, horriblest gifts I have ever received. Even the shade of green is awful. My dh and son picked it "just for me" from the Roswell UFO Museum and Research Center. They thought I would appreciate it, me being an artist and all. When I see it I think of my husband and son conspring to buy it for me and how they chuckled thinking of my reaction. I gave them a good performace when they handed it over I'll tell you. It is a ugly cheesy horrid little alien sitting on my coffee table and it makes me smile everytime I see it. And that is living an artful life :)
I was asked how often I work on my art. In some capacity or other every single day. I keep to a regular work schedule in the studio or workshop during the weekdays that can last anywhere from 2-6 hours.

Eat cake and barf!!!!!

I saw a fashion mag and the models looked like they had just been released from a concentration camp. Is this what we are supposed to aspire too. eek! No, not obsessed with weight or dieting (diets are futile and stupid anyway), but it is frustrating to try and NOT put weight on. I don't stuff me face morning, noon or at night, but at my age my metabolism apprarently went on holiday and never came back. Hope it is bloody well enjoying itself.
